Help choosing the right home care provider
Independent advice, with no sales pitch and no referral fees
Book Your Free Discovery Call
Choosing a home care provider is one of the biggest decisions in aged care, and most of the advice comes from providers themselves. AJQ Care Advisory isn't paid by any provider. We help families compare options, ask the right questions and choose the provider that suits them. If things aren't working, we help you switch.
Why independent advice matters when choosing a provider
Some “free” aged care services are paid a fee by the provider you end up choosing. That doesn't make them bad, but it does mean their advice isn't fully independent. AJQ is paid by your family and no one else, so our only interest is finding the right fit for you.
How we help you choose
- Work out what matters most to your family (location, services, culture, language, cost)
- Shortlist providers that suit your needs
- Give you the questions to ask before you sign
- Help you read and understand the home care agreement
- Support you to switch if the provider isn't working out
Five questions to ask before you sign
- 1What are your prices, and what's included?
- 2Who will actually be coming to the house, and how often will it change?
- 3How do you handle complaints?
- 4What happens if we want to change providers?
- 5How often will you review the care plan with us?
Choosing a provider questions
Can I change home care providers?
Yes. You can change providers if the one you have isn't meeting your needs. Check your agreement for notice periods first, and we can help you plan the switch.
Will you recommend a specific provider?
We'll help you compare options that suit your family, and we'll tell you honestly what we think. We don't earn anything from any provider, whichever one you choose.
What should I ask before signing a home care agreement?
Ask about prices and what's included, who will visit and how often, how the care plan is reviewed, how complaints are handled and what happens if you want to leave. Get the answers in writing, and don't sign until everything is clear. We're happy to go through it with you.
