So I started AJQ Care Advisory. I listen first, explain everything in plain English, and stay with you for the whole process, not just the paperwork.

AJQ Care Advisory works with families across Brisbane's Northside, Toowoomba and Gympie. Discovery Calls and check-ins can happen by phone or video, with home visits available across our service area.

Common questions
Does My Aged Care already do this for free?
My Aged Care is free and it's a good place to start. What it won't do is sit down with your family, work out what's right for you, and help you keep your provider accountable. That's where independent advice comes in.
What happened to ACAT assessments?
ACAT assessments were replaced by the Single Assessment System in December 2024. Lots of people still call it an ACAT assessment, and that's fine. What happens during the assessment is much the same, and we can help you prepare either way.
What is Support at Home?
Support at Home is the government program that replaced Home Care Packages on 1 November 2025. If your family already had a Home Care Package, the funding moved across automatically. The rules, budgets and fees have changed, and we can explain what that means for you.
How much does AJQ Care Advisory cost?
The Discovery Call is free, with no obligation. You'll know exactly what you're paying for before you commit to anything.
Will you push us toward a particular provider?
No. AJQ Care Advisory isn't paid by any aged care provider. Our only job is to look after your family's interests.
Can my family be on the call?
Yes, and we encourage it. Siblings, partners and your parent are all welcome, and nothing moves forward until everyone is comfortable with the plan.
We're not in a crisis yet. Is it too early to talk?
Not at all. The families who cope best with aged care are usually the ones who got advice before they needed it.
